Our Why
A message from our Founder
My name is Brea Dorsett (pronounced Bree, she/her) — I’m a human rights advocate, keynote speaker, and lived experience consultant with a passion for challenging stigma and building systems that are more inclusive, ethical, and empowering.
I started Pink Leopard not out of survival, but out of purpose.
When I first entered the sex industry, it was driven by curiosity, a desire to increase my income, and a vision to create a better life for myself. I was fortunate to work in safe, ethical, and high-standard workplaces where I was recognised, respected, and even awarded for the quality of my work. But what I quickly came to realise was that the standards I had come to expect from my previous full-time roles in other sectors — including professionalism, safety, and respect — were not consistently upheld in the adult industry, even after the decriminalisation of sex work in Victoria in 2022, a reform led by Fiona Patten.
Even more confronting was the shift in how the outside world viewed me. Despite nothing about me changing — my values, my drive, my integrity — I began to experience discrimination, prejudice, and judgement purely because of my involvement in sex work. I saw firsthand how deeply rooted stigma continues to shape public perception, workplace culture, and access to rights and protections.
Pink Leopard was born out of the need to change that.
It’s a response to the double standards, a challenge to the stigma, and a call to humanise sex workers in the eyes of society. It’s a platform for education, advocacy, and community-led solutions — one that centres lived experience and works towards a world where sex workers are safe, respected, and valued for who they are and the work they do.
This isn’t just my story — it’s a collective movement for dignity, equity, and change.
